The Indian box office has witnessed a rare and telling shift with the arrival of Avatar: Fire and Ash. Despite massive hype, the third instalment of James Cameron’s landmark franchise has opened far below expectations in India. The film collected approximately ₹18 crore nett on its opening day, nearly 55 percent lower than what Avatar: The Way of Water had achieved on Day 1, which stood at around ₹40 crore nett.
Tere Ishk Mein has collected around ₹1.70 crore on its second Wednesday, film is holding quite well, Despite the pressure from dhurandhar, the second-week hold so far has been superb.
Dhurandhar has performed well at the box office. The film’s overall business in its first six days has reached ₹157 crore, which is a solid total. However, these are merely numbers, not pure collections, because a significant portion involves self-buying, a practice that has now become almost legitimized in the Indian film industry. This year, similar discrepancies were observed with Sky Force and Bhool Chook Maaf, where there was a huge difference between the organic collections and the official numbers.
